Stats are the figures printed on the packaging, on whatever scale this generation's packaging uses, so they compare within this table and not across generations. Weights are in grams. "Comes in" counts the Beyblades in this catalogue that include it. A dash means the record has nothing.

What a Blade Base Is

Blade Bases sit at the core of a Beyblade's Spin Gear assembly, governing which way the top rotates -- clockwise or counterclockwise -- depending on which Spin Gear is fitted. Mechanically, the base connects to the Attack Ring above it and to the Spin Gear beneath, so its shape and weight distribution shape both spin direction and overall movement pattern. Introduced in July 2000 as part of the Spin Gear System, the part carried through into the Magnacore System before later generations replaced it with different centre components. Individual bases vary mainly in the gear direction they support and in the moulded plastic used, which affects durability and weight.

Because the base sets spin direction, it dictates which Spin Gears and Attack Rings a Beyblade can pair with, and pairing a base with a mismatched gear stops the top from launching correctly.

  • Introduced in July 2000 with the Spin Gear System.
  • Carried forward into the Magnacore System before later generations moved to different centre parts.
