About This Part
Spiral Change Base is a 7-gram Blade Base for the Spin Gear System, first released with Dranzer S on December 2000. It accepts Right SG in its Free Shaft Version along with plain and Neo Spin Gears, and when paired with that Free Shaft Version, its underside can be pressed in and turned before a match to swap between a metal sharp tip and a plastic flat tip.
In Play
In its plastic flat-tip mode the base has an unusually strong life-after-death ability, able to match or beat a bearing tip even spinning the opposite direction, though it stays hard to control and its defence is weak; Weak Shooting helps offset both problems but the combination remains risky. Paired with War Lion, the community uses it to spin-steal and outlast Zombie combinations, though switching to the metal sharp tip limits the setup to Attack Mode only, since Survival Mode's defence is too poor to rely on.
