SG Metal Flat 2 is the base fitted to Gaia Dragoon V and the second Magnacore-era piece built with a metal flat tip, after SG Metal Flat on Driger V. At 5 grams it is a gram heavier than the plain SG Flat while staying close to it in height, and the metal tip cuts friction against the stadium floor, raising the beyblade's spin velocity.

That extra velocity makes it a strong pick for Attack combinations built around Smash Attack or Upper Attack; it trails grip-tipped bases such as Grip Base or SG Grip Change Base for raw speed, but its longer-lasting survival lets it land more hits over a match.
