About This Part
Metal Ball Base is the Blade Base at the heart of Draciel Metal Ball Defenser, released in May 2000 for the Spin Gear System. On its own it weighs 9 grams, rising to 11 grams with one set of metal balls fitted and 13 grams with two sets. It reuses the screw-in mount from the four-layer system, and a set of loose metal balls sits inside that can roll along internal ramps.
In Play
While spinning fast those balls climb the ramps toward the outer edge, raising the centre of gravity and spreading weight more evenly for extra stability; as the spin slows, gravity pulls them back toward the centre, which costs balance but stretches spin time, so the idea is to sit still through the opening half of a match and outlast the opponent late - though the ramps are shallow enough that almost any wobble sends the balls climbing early. A second set of balls can be fitted by loosening the base's screw, adding close to 20 percent more weight and turning the two competing behaviours into one steadier defense base that resists knockouts; fully loaded with both sets, the community rates it as a solid, competitive choice and a handy benchmark for testing other builds, even if owning only the two balls it ships with makes Draciel Metal Ball Defenser a lesser buy next to alternatives such as Driger S.
