About This Part
Salamalyon Base is a thin, flat Blade Base for the Spin Gear System, screwed onto the Spin Gear and first released with Salamalyon on August 2001. Takara Tomy's version carries two side spikes so the dragon figure from Johnny's beyblade in the television series can clip onto it, though the beyblade cannot be launched while attached that way. Hasbro moved those attachment pegs to the top of the base instead, avoiding the mix-up the side spikes caused for players.
In Play
The attachment pegs on both versions are fragile and prone to snapping during play.
- Debuted with the release of Salamalyon on August 2001.
