About This Part
Instant Release, also called the First Clutch Base, is the Engine Gear Blade Base that shipped with Dragoon GT in June 2003. It weighs 7 grams and carries four large, flat protrusions similar in shape to the Spike Dragon Attack Ring on Dragoon V2. Like every First Clutch base, its clutch fires the Engine Gear the moment the battle starts rather than delaying the release.
In Play
The broad protrusions give it some smash-attack potential, but they kick back so much recoil that a self-knockout is about as likely as landing one on the opponent, so competitive use is generally confined to one-hit-knockout combinations, and the risk of the part breaking makes many players skip it entirely.
