Description

The upgraded Draciel Max debuts against Queen in the World Championship, and the blade he is still using when G-Revolution begins. Draciel V2 doubles down on weight and stability, and its Heavy Viper Wall is thick enough to stop the Shredder attack ring that had been chewing through every other blade in the tournament. Max carries it through the PPB All Starz qualifier against Emily before Draciel G replaces it for the World Championship proper.

Draciel V2 was Max's fifth Beyblade, evolving from Draciel V and later into Draciel G. Its elliptical Strike Turtle attack ring carries three small claws a side, its Ten Heavy weight disk is the densest of the Heavy series and favours compact, high-RPM builds, and its Fin Tector support piece can flip between an attack-boosting orientation and a weaker defensive one. The Switch Metal Ball blade base holds two fixed metal balls that can face inward or outward but otherwise offers little beyond mounting support parts.

Parts in detail

Collectors document no numbering or reissue detail beyond its relationship to the Hasbro Magnacore recolor and two Remote Control tie-ins (a standalone RC Beyblade version and an RC 'Cao Cao' reskin from the Three Kingdoms line).

SlotPartWeightSpinNote
Attack Ring Strike Turtle 4.8 g Both (direction-dependent performance) In Right Spin, rounded segment-end contact points offer some Smash Attack, though their rounded shape and poor angling limit real power and generate recoil, and it's far too recoil-prone for Defense or Stamina in this direction. Left Spin keeps a single sharper leading-edge contact point but with less Smash than Right and the same recoil problem.
Weight Disk Ten Heavy 16.1 g The heaviest legal Weight Disk, with a compact mass profile that trades attack usefulness for strong RPM retention.
Spin Gear Neo Right Spin Gear (Metal Weight Version) Shells 1.15 ea (2.3 total) g Right Neo-pattern shells are favored over regular Right shells because they fit every Spin-Gear-compatible Blade Base and unlock Neo-only cores, including the Heavy Metal Core.
Spin Gear Metal Weight Core 2.5 g Packs a small metal cylinder for added mass but weighs a touch less than a Magnecore, so it rarely stands out as the clear best choice for Attack builds.
Support Part Fin Tector 1.05 each g A two-piece Support Part that flips between an aggressive orientation (heavy attack-mode recoil for a small amount of attack) and a defensive orientation (little more than the same recoil with no offsetting upside); it can also rotate to cover or expose the Base Clips, generally best kept covering them to prevent the Beyblade coming apart mid-battle.
Blade Base Switch Metal Ball Base 6.3 g Small metal balls sit on hinges meant to switch between a centered position (for rotational speed) and an outward one (for balance), but the hinges loosen with use until the switching mechanism effectively stops working. Its tall, wide ball tip skips the tornado ridge easily, hurting defense, and its poor balance limits stamina while its shape isn't aggressive enough for attack.

Weights are single copies weighed on their own; a part can vary by a few tenths of a gram.

In play and in the story

Strike Turtle is judged an unremarkable middle-of-the-road ring next to sharper options like Triple Wing or Eight Spiker, Fin Tector earns real praise as a Smash Attack part but is outclassed on defence by pieces such as Defense Ring, and Switch Metal Ball Base is considered close to useless thanks to its tall, friction-heavy tip, leaving this top, in the community's view, worth picking up mainly for collectors rather than for its parts.

Community testing, 2010-08-24 — summarised

The competitive view

Draciel V2 is a largely outclassed plastic-generation (Spin Gear era) Beyblade whose main value lies in its Fin Tector support part, prized for Smash Attack builds, covering its Attack Ring, Weight Disk, Spin Gear, Support Part and Blade Base.

Strike Turtle gives only moderate Smash Attack and is severely outclassed; Fin Tector is the standout part, best used flipped into Attack Mode to aid Smash Attack (its Defense Mode use is outclassed by parts like Defense Ring); Switch Metal Ball Base is judged nearly useless due to its tall, poor-tipped design despite being able to hold Support Parts.

Verdict as the draft gives it: The Beyblade overall is called outclassed, worth buying mainly for Fin Tector -- rated the best Support Part for Smash Attack -- and recommended only to players who already have sizable plastic-generation collections.

  • Attack Ring: Strike/Smash Turtle, 6g
  • Weight Disk: Ten Heavy (see Heavy Weight Disks)
  • Spin Gear: Neo Right SG (S-MG Core)
  • Support Part: Fin Tector, 2g
  • Blade Base: Switch Metal Ball Base, 6g, holds 2 fixed metal balls settable inward or outward
