Description

Max's late-season upgrade, first launched on the frozen lake where the Bladebreakers confront Kai and Black Dranzer. Draciel F keeps the line's fortress philosophy but adds a heavier ring and a tip that can shift between holding position and drifting away from a charge. It anchors Max's defensive role in the Russian tournament, absorbing punishment from the Demolition Boys so his teammates can attack, and it is the blade he carries into V-Force before receiving Draciel V.

Draciel F was Max's third Beyblade, arriving after Draciel S and giving way later to Draciel V. Its Fortress Base blade base carries an oil-damped metal tip and can pack in up to three sets of metal balls, which is the main reason bladers still reach for this top, while the Eight Spike attack ring and Eight Balance weight disk fill out an otherwise unremarkable defensive build. Takara Tomy and Hasbro both issued it in several forms, including a Crystal version, a Metal Master Series release, a Random Booster F pressing, a black starter recolour, a clear-white Beyblade Fukubako 2002 edition and a later Burst-branded version.

Parts in detail

Collectors give only the full-name alias (Draciel Fortress); no further product numbering or reissue history is documented for this entry.

SlotPartWeightSpinNote
Attack Ring Eight Spike 4.2 g Both (poor in both) Eight protruding flat-faced spikes generate heavy recoil without any meaningful Smash Attack, performing equally poorly whichever direction it spins.
Weight Disk Eight Balance 14.1 g A middling-weight, unremarkable-distribution Weight Disk that's outclassed by nearly every common competitive option, Ten Balance especially; heavier plated copies can occasionally match it, but that's a niche, impractical workaround.
Spin Gear Right Spin Gear (Grease Ball Version) Shells 1.1 ea (+1.12 optional Metal Weight Gear) g Right Standard Right-Spin System shells, incompatible with Neo cores (and so with certain MagneSystem Bases) unless paired with Wyborg's SG (Auto Change Version) core; Neo shells are usually preferred for their broader compatibility, especially for reaching the Heavy Metal Core in Right Spin.
Spin Gear SG (Grease Ball Version) 3.8 (including ball and grease) g Compatible only with Fortress Base, this core houses a metal ball inside a long shaft; the intended gimmick is a lubricated ball (Takara ships a separate silicone grease packet; Hasbro omits it, likely for safety) that's supposed to move more smoothly for more consistent behavior and survival, but in practice the mechanism gives fairly weak defense and little useful movement, only passable stamina.
Blade Base Fortress Base 5.6 (+ up to two 1/4in metal balls, 1.05 each) g Holds up to two steel balls that are meant to shift outward at high RPM and inward as RPM drops, aiming to boost stability and spin time — but the underlying shape is recoil-prone and aerodynamically weak with poor LAD regardless of ball count, and it can fit a wide range of shafts/tips without becoming competitive with any of them.

Weights are single copies weighed on their own; a part can vary by a few tenths of a gram.

In play and in the story

The community rates the Eight Spike attack ring as essentially unusable competitively, and Eight Balance sits behind Ten Balance as a weight-disk choice, but Fortress Base earns real respect: its metal-ball capacity and damped tip give it lasting defensive value even against newer parts.

  • Preceded Max's use of Draciel V and succeeded Draciel S.
  • Released in a Crystal version.
  • Released as part of the Metal Master Series.
  • Released as a Random Booster F pull.
  • Released in a black starter recolour.
  • Released clear white for the Beyblade Fukubako 2002.
  • Released again under a Burst-branded version.

Community testing, Aug. 23, 2010 — summarised

The competitive view

The plastic-era Defense Beyblade Draciel F has an Eight Spike Attack Ring, Eight Balance/Heavy Weight Disk, Right SG, and a signature Fortress Base that holds interchangeable sets of metal balls. Overstated claims about the base's capacity and usefulness are corrected, backed by photographic proof.

  • Fortress Base alone: 12g
  • Fortress Base + 1 ball set (original release): 14g
  • Fortress Base + 2 ball sets: 16g
  • Fortress Base + 3 ball sets: 18g
  • Eight Spike Attack Ring: 5g
