Description
The first blade to carry the Draciel bit-beast, debuting when Max faces Kai in the regional semifinal. Draciel S is a pure defender: a heavy, low-riding top with a flat, wide base that plants itself in the dish and shrugs off charges until the attacker runs out of spin. Its Fortress Defense turns the bit-beast's shell into a literal wall. Max uses it through the Asian and American tournaments, including the emotional test match against his mother's research team.
Draciel S was Max's second Beyblade, taking over from Draciel Metal Ball Defenser before Draciel F replaced it in turn. Its Cross Spike attack ring forms a squared shape with flat spikes and turtle-head projections, its bit chip carries either a Death Draciel or a plain Draciel sticker, and its SG Metal Ball blade base can carry up to two sets of metal balls plus a Heavy Metal Core borrowed from Metal Driger, making the combination one of the heaviest blade bases ever produced. Takara Tomy, SonoKong and Hasbro all issued their own colour runs of it.

Parts in detail
Collectors give no additional numbering or reissue history for this entry beyond the full-name alias.
| Slot | Part | Weight | Spin | Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Attack Ring | Cross Spike | 4.1 g | Both (poor in both) | Eight protruding flat-faced spikes (like Eight Spike) generate heavy recoil with no meaningful Smash Attack in either spin direction, and its thin side-horns make it a little fragile. |
| Weight Disk | Eight Balance | 14.1 g | A middling-weight, unremarkable-distribution Weight Disk that's outclassed by nearly every common competitive option, Ten Balance especially; heavier plated copies can occasionally match it. | |
| Spin Gear | Right Spin Gear Shells + Regular SG Core Part | 1.1 ea shells (+1.12 optional Metal Weight Gear); 0.61 core g | Right | Standard Right-Spin System shells, incompatible with Neo cores unless paired with Wyborg's SG (Auto Change Version) core; the lightweight core part holds the assembly together and is barely heavier than Wyborg's Auto Change core. |
| Blade Base | SG Metal Ball Base | 7.2 (+ up to four 1/4in metal balls, 1.05 each) g | A large, lumpy Base that holds up to four metal balls (ships with two) and, fully loaded with balls plus a Heavy Metal Core, becomes one of the heaviest Bases in the whole Plastic generation — beaten only by a specific First Clutch Base (Zeus Version) / Right Engine Gear (Circle Defenser) / Circle Survivor stack, which is itself less flexible than this Base. Its versatile metal-ball tip made it a Weight Based Defense staple and a strong choice for aggressive launching, since it self-corrects well after failed launches at high RPM. As with Metal Ball Base, the rolling-ball gimmick barely functions, so extra balls mainly add useful weight. |
Weights are single copies weighed on their own; a part can vary by a few tenths of a gram.
In play and in the story
Cross Spike's shape and flat spikes make it prone to knocking itself off balance, so the community treats it as having no real competitive role, while SG Metal Ball is rated as one of the strongest defensive blade bases available thanks to its round metal tip and heavy-load capacity.

Community testing, Apr. 13, 2017 — summarised
The competitive view
Draciel S is a Burst-era Energy Layer released for Beyblade's 15th anniversary, adapting the original Plastic-generation Cross Spike Attack Ring and Draciel Bit Chip. It debuted with the B-67 Random Booster Vol. 5 Gigant Gaia Quarter Fusion release, keeping the square/diamond shape with four turtle-head contact points and a fixed, non-removable Draciel image at center, more compact than the original ring.
Despite its tall teeth, the four turtle-head contact points act more like brakes than attack points, sometimes causing self-bursts, though the layer has occasionally shown success in attack builds regardless.
Verdict as the draft gives it: Inconsistent and generally poor compared with layers like Valtryek and Xcalius; recommended for collection purposes only.
- Debuted via B-67 Draciel S Central Press, Random Booster Vol. 5, green
- Teeth comparable to Valtryek V2's Takara Tomy release
