Description

The blade of the elder Fernandez twin, one half of the circus-trained Spanish team F-Dynasty. Thunder Pegasus is built to work in tandem with her brother's Torch Pegasus: the twins swap blades mid-match, cross launch paths and use acrobatics that no solo blader can answer. Julia is the assertive one, and her partnership with Raul is the model of teamwork that Tyson and Daichi conspicuously lack in their first tag battle against them.

Julia Fernandez owns this Attack-type top in the Original Series. Takara issued it only as a prize through Random Booster 12, making it a scarce pull. Its Wing Upper Attack Ring gives a moderate upper-attack angle from its two-winged Pegasus shape, and the Gyro Engine Gear Spin Gear lets the Engine Stopper Blade Base spin the top by ripcord rather than a launcher, apart from the far more common Metal Change Base setup.

Parts in detail

A very rare purple recolor of Flame Pegasus, with an even rarer 'Crazy Rare' dark-blue colorway also documented.

SlotPartWeightSpinNote
Attack Ring Wing Upper 5.3 g Right and Left A rounded-edge ring whose edge-weighted shape aids stamina since it sits wider than Wide Survivor. The rounded edges give it some destabilizing ability in low combos and Force Smash setups, but higher recoil than rivals like Tiger Defenser keeps it a second-tier pick in both directions.
Weight Disk N/A (no weight disk slot) — This build has no separate weight-disk slot; the Gyro Engine Gear's internal metal disk supplies the mass a weight disk would normally provide.
Spin Gear Gyro Engine Gear 21.2 (including two stock plastic bearings at 0.04g each) g Dual (launch method determines Left or Right) A bearing-mounted gyro mechanism that isolates the spinning mass from outside contact, launchable via three distinct legal methods. Swapping in shielded ball bearings turns what was sold as a novelty gimmick into one of the strongest stamina setups of the generation.
Blade Base Engine Stopper Base 5.5 g A plastic housing required to run Gyro Engine Gear; its two sloped protrusions offer only minor destabilizing contact since the part free-spins in normal use.
Other Metal Sharp (Customize Engine Weight / tip) 3.3 g A flat-faced tip with a small metal point. It pairs unusually well with Gyro Engine Gear's low, rounded profile for excellent stability, though on other setups it is outclassed by Light Sharp for precession play.

Weights are single copies weighed on their own; a part can vary by a few tenths of a gram.

In play and in the story

The community places Wing Upper above Smash Turtle and roughly level with the Gyro Attack Ring, though short of Twin Horn or Tiger Defenser, and rates it an improvement on Panther Claw for Compacts play; the Gyro Engine Gear itself sees no real competitive use once its ripcord gimmick is set aside, since the mismatched weight between its upper and lower sections bleeds spin fast and its height invites easy knockouts from lower Attack types.

  • Issued by Takara only as a prize top in Random Booster 12.
