Code
G-204

Description

Hasbro built this Attack Type top as its own exclusive variant of the original Venus, launching it internationally sometime in 2004 with a blue Left Spin Launcher, a yellow Ripcord and a red Turbo Winder. The Engine Gear System build combines the Venusian Bit Chip with the four-sided Mirage Goddess Attack Ring, the Ten Wide Weight Disk, a red Left Customize Gear tip and the Instant Release Blade Base. Ten Wide extends the Wide Weight Disk line begun with Dragoon S' Eight Wide, adding two more sides to become the widest and heaviest of the series.

Parts in detail

Hasbro's alternate release of Venus, built on Dragoon G's parts base.

SlotPartWeightSpinNote
Attack Ring Mirage Goddess 7.8 g Right and Left A wide, heavy, thick ring: a top Right-Spin Smash Attack ring and, in Left Spin, a genuinely competitive Weight-Based Defense and Spin-Stealing Attack ring at the same time.
Weight Disk Ten Wide 14.0 (Takara/Hasbro) / 14.3 (SonoKong G-Blade) g A moderately light, outward-weighted disk, solid for Smash Attack but outclassed by Wide Defense/Wide Survivor for spin-stealing or survival due to recoil.
Spin Gear Left Customize Engine Gear 6.6 g Left A CEW-compatible left-spin engine gear that fires more slowly and weakly than Left Engine Gear (Turbo). Its gimmick rarely pays off since the resulting combo sits too tall to reliably connect with opponents.
Blade Base First Clutch Base (Dragoon G Version) 7.6 g Activates its clutch at the start of the match rather than late, which is gentler on the blade than a Final Clutch design. Its spiked front gives modest Left-Spin offense but the base is nearly useless facing Right.
Other Metal Semi-Flat (Customize Engine Weight / tip) 3.6 g A beveled semi-flat tip derived from the stock engine-gear tip; too aggressive to hold up defensively and not grippy or fast enough to shine offensively given the tall engine-gear stack it's paired with.

Weights are single copies weighed on their own; a part can vary by a few tenths of a gram.

In play and in the story

Mirage Goddess rates low for attack and defense but high for endurance, while the Left Customize Gear favours aggressive attack over defense; together they lean the build toward speed and endurance rather than raw power.

  • Released internationally as a Starter sometime in 2004.
