Description

Metal Dranzer is an Attack-type top built for the Magnacore System, released in Japan in December 2001. Jin of the Gale may pilot it in the manga, though that link is not certain. It runs the Scissor Attacker Attack Ring, the Ten Balance Weight Disk, the Neo Right Spin Gear and the SG Flat Base Blade Base.

Parts in detail

Standard release pairing Scissor Attacker with Ten Balance, Neo Right Spin Gear (South Magne Version) and SG Flat Base.

SlotPartWeightSpinNote
Attack Ring Scissor Attacker 4.2 g Left (competitive) / Right (not competitive) In left spin its small size and rounded leading edges make it a genuinely competitive choice for defense, stamina and compacts, though not quite up with Twin Horn; in right spin it's aggressive but too recoil-prone and short-ranged for compacts, defense or survival use.
Weight Disk Ten Balance 15.0 g A decently heavy, compact-yet-edge-weighted disk balancing RPM maintenance with survival; generally a step behind Wide Defense unless a tighter distribution is needed, and behind Ten Heavy specifically in compacts, but a solid all-around part.
Spin Gear Neo Right Spin Gear Shells + South Magnecore 2.3 (shells) + 3.3 (core) g Right Neo shells are the preferred right-spin shell for broad core compatibility, and the South Magnecore adds useful weight for recoil control on stamina-conscious attack setups without matching a Heavy Metal Core's defensive punch.
Blade Base SG Flat Base 4.4 g The shortest base in plastics, useful in traditional upper attack despite mediocre flower-patterning, stamina and recoil control.

Weights are single copies weighed on their own; a part can vary by a few tenths of a gram.

In play and in the story

The community rates the Scissor Attacker ring well for right-spin attacking match-ups and against zombie-type builds when facing left-spin opponents.

Community testing, Aug. 25, 2013 — summarised

The competitive view

Metal Dranzer's Scissor Attacker ring pairs with different Weight Disks, Spin Gears and Blade Bases for compact, zombie, defensive-zombie and smash-attack builds. Scissor Attacker's rounded, compact shape is rated ahead of Driger S's Tiger Defenser and Galeon's War Lion in left-spin zombie and compact setups, losing only to Gabriel's Twin Horn. The ring's small size and its typical Weight Disk pairing are noted as already shielding it from upper-attack vulnerability, with the defensive-zombie build considered the standout among the listed uses; Weight Disks are also credited with blocking rival rings from getting underneath, alongside a comparison to Tiger Defenser.
