Description

Kai's mid-season replacement, debuting in the Eiffel Tower battle against the Dark Bladers. The flame-shaped attack ring gives it a more aggressive edge than Dranzer S, and Kai debuts the Flame Saber with it, a blazing charge that cuts straight through an opponent's defence. Dranzer F is the blade Kai abandons when he takes Black Dranzer, and the one he returns to for the World Championship, beating Spencer's Seaborg in the first match of the Russian final.

Dranzer F served as Kai's second Beyblade, taking over from Dranzer S before he moved on to Dranzer V. The build joins a Flame Wing attack ring and an Eight Heavy weight disk to a Flame Change Base, which only works with the accompanying triple-tipped Spin Gear, and it also appeared in variant colourways including a Black Dranzer edition, a Metal Master Version, a Crystal Version and a Coro-Coro limited red run, plus an appearance bundled into set A/H-38.

Parts in detail

Combo built around the fragile Flame Wing Attack Ring, Eight Heavy Weight Disk, a Right Spin Gear (Triple Change Version) offering three swappable tip shapes, and the matching Flame Change Base. Black Dranzer is a highly sought-after recolor with identical performance.

SlotPartWeightSpinNote
Attack Ring Flame Wing 3.8 g Left & Right (fragile in both, worse in Right) A compact ring with edge-weighted mass and rounded contact points, but its wing tips are notoriously fragile — most secondhand copies have broken ARs — and it should never be used in Right Spin; even in Left Spin it needs the protection of Wide Survivor or Wide Defense. Right Spin offers usable but unremarkable Upper Attack and moderate Smash with real recoil, landing it as a second-tier Zombie/defensive option at best; Left Spin's lower recoil makes it a viable, lower-tier Zombie/Defensive-Zombie and Weight-Based-Defense piece.
Weight Disk Eight Heavy 15.3 (Regular Mold) / 15.5 (Indent Mold) g Outclassed across the board by the heavier Ten Heavy for the same roles, and by Heavy Attack when protected from contact; retains marginal use in Compact builds for its slightly-above-Heavy weight and lower recoil, though Ten Heavy still edges it out there too.
Spin Gear Right Spin Gear Shells (Spin Gear Shells) 1.1 each, plus an optional 1.12 Metal Weight Gear g Right The standard (non-Neo) shell type, incompatible with Neo Cores and thus with some Magne-System bases, though Wyborg's Auto Change SG core part offers a partial workaround. Neo Shells are generally preferred for their broader core compatibility, especially with the Heavy Metal Core. The optional Metal Weight Gear reduces wobble and adds slight weight but isn't functionally a gear, and isn't required for legality (several BBA-line releases ship without one).
Spin Gear SG (Triple Change Version) (Spin Gear Core) 1.7 g Only compatible with Flame Change Base; offers three selectable tips held by friction against two molded protrusions, which can wear enough that the tip shifts mid-battle, causing major stamina loss and erratic movement (a second mold enlarges the protrusions to reduce this). A molding seam through each tip causes some early-battle hopping on the Semi-Flat/Flat settings. None of the three modes are competitively relevant on their own — Semi-Flat and Flat lack synergy with the parts they'd need, and Sharp has poor balance and defense.
Blade Base Flame Change Base 4.1 g Only compatible with SG (Triple Change Version), largely serving as its mounting shell; offers middling LAD and a fairly compact weight spread but no access to a Heavy Metal Core. Once had appeal for its swappable-tip versatility, but every tip mode is now outclassed.

Weights are single copies weighed on their own; a part can vary by a few tenths of a gram.

In play and in the story

Community testing finds the triple-tipped Spin Gear interesting to practice with, since it swaps between flat, sharp and semi-flat tips, but too tall to execute any of the three well, and a manufacturing flaw often lets the tip piece slip between positions mid-match, so serious players tend to skip it. The Eight Heavy weight disk earns more respect for concentrating mass near the centre to boost RPM and for suiting Defense-leaning builds, though Ten Heavy, the largest disk in that same series, is generally preferred when weight is the priority.

Community testing, 2009-02-14 — summarised

The competitive view

Dranzer F is a plastic-generation Beyblade re-released as Black Dranzer and in Metal Masters sets, whose Flame Wing attack ring is a dual-purpose part capable of both Smash and Upper Attack, though outclassed at each individually by dedicated parts.

Flame Wing gives usable but inferior Smash Attack and Upper Attack (outclassed by dedicated parts like Upper Dragoon for lifting); its Right SG (Triple Change Version), usable only with Flame Change Base, switches between flat, sharp and semi-flat tips but performs each poorly since the spin gear is too tall, and loose-fitting units can get stuck between tip positions during launch, causing spin-outs.

Verdict as the draft gives it: The article says Flame Wing is a decent fallback attack ring but outclassed overall; the SG/BB combo is judged to have no competitive use, useful only for new players experimenting with tip styles.

  • Attack Ring: Flame Wing, two large notched, upward-angled spikes, fragile around the spike ends
