Description

Advance Striker is an Attack Type Beyblade in the Hard Metal System's Advance line, combining a Hard Metal Emblem bit protector, Advance Attacker attack ring, Circle Heavy weight disk and Metal Flat Core running core. It was seen as a genuinely well-built attacker whose real strengths lay outside the most crowded upper-attack matchups of its day.

In play and in the story

Its right-spin upper attack is effective but is overshadowed by the more popular Circle Upper and Samurai Upper rings, limiting competitive use outside restricted-format play; its real value is in Force Smash attacks and left-spin upper attack, both underrepresented styles. Its Metal Flat Core running core is low, fast and durable, making it a strong pick for smash-style attack combos generally.

  • Released in Japan on May 22nd, 2004.
  • Issued in blue and green color variants.

The competitive view

Advance Striker is a Hard Metal System Beyblade whose second-generation Bit Protector fits tighter than earlier molds, built around the reversible-Metal-Frame Advance Attacker attack ring (switchable between Upper Attack and Force Smash) and the short, fast Metal Flat Core running core.

Advance Attacker gives the best left-spin Upper Attack of any part due to its symmetrical design, but is outclassed in right-spin Upper Attack by Circle Upper and Samurai Upper because of its shorter slope; its Force Smash mode is rated one of the most pronounced available when paired with a tall running core. Metal Flat Core's metal tip gives it high, wear-resistant speed, useful for both Upper Attack and Smash Attack, best controlled with the Sliding Shoot technique.

Verdict as the draft gives it: Rated a strong buy for HMS, especially for left-spin Upper Attack and Force Smash where competition is thin, and for Metal Flat Core's general attack utility, though outclassed in standard right-spin Upper Attack by the format's two dominant parts.

  • Attack Ring: Advance Attacker, 21 grams, second-heaviest attack ring behind Jiraiya Blade; 20-degree slope only 1.5cm long vs. 2.5cm on Samurai Upper/Circle Upper
  • Weight Disk: Circle Heavy, 16 grams
  • Running Core: Metal Flat Core, 3 grams, third-shortest running core after GFC and GFC Ultimate Mode
