Description

Phantom Fox MS opens the Hard Metal System's Gimmick Specialty Series, built around a split gimmick that lets it break into two main sections mid-battle. Its Bit Protector, the Phantom Fox Emblem, used only the second mould ever made for that part, and it sits above the Upper Fox Attack Ring, a CWD Circle Attacker Weight Disk, and the Bunshin Core Running Core that drives the separation trick. Collectors have tracked down at least eight colourways, running from Fukubako box exclusives to gold- and silver-plated tournament prizes.

In play and in the story

The community generally treats Upper Fox as outclassed by better Attack Rings and the Bunshin Core as more of a novelty piece; the CWD Circle Attacker stands out as the strongest part, mainly valued in Wobbling setups, which leaves the top suited to players chasing the gimmick over tournament results.

  • Included in a 2005 Fukubako box lottery release.

Community testing, 2009-01-10 — summarised

The competitive view

Only a single summary sentence about the Beyblade's dual-purpose Upper Fox attack ring is captured in this excerpt, rather than a full part breakdown.

Upper Fox is designed to give right-spin Upper Attack and left-spin Smash Attack.

Condensed from community testing; competitive opinions are the community's, not ours, and may be out of date.
