Spin Gear

Spin Gear is the small, gear-shaped Beyblade part that sets a top's rotation direction, right-spin turning clockwise and left-spin counter-clockwise, while also acting as the mechanical hub that clamps the rest of the Beyblade together. Takara Tomy introduced it in July 2000 with the Spin Gear System, and the part carried on in updated form through to the Magnacore System. A standard Spin Gear locks a star-shaped foot into the Blade Base, holds the Weight Disk against that base's tabs, and grips the Attack Ring by its inner tabs; the later NEO version swaps its fixed metal weight ring for interchangeable cores such as the Magnetic Core.

  • A Left-Spin Spin Gear's tabs sit further out than a Right-Spin Gear's, so the two cannot be launched from each other's shooters.
