Spin Gear System

This was the game's second construction system, arriving after the original 4-Layer format and giving way later to the Magnacore System. Its signature addition was the Spin Gear itself, a small part that let a top rotate left instead of only clockwise; a five-part structure of Bit Chip, Attack Ring, Weight Disk, Spin Gear and Blade Base followed once the design matured, and releases from December 2000 onward picked up an A-000 style serial number.

  • Older Bit-Chip Covers became hard to remove once Bit Chips were lengthened for the five-part structure, and Takara later reissued earlier tops like Master Dranzer with the longer chip design.
