Bladebreakers

The Bladebreakers, called the BBA Team in Japan, are the show's core protagonist squad, assembled by Mr. Dickenson to counter Voltaire Hiwatari and the Biovolt Corporation. Built around Tyson, Kai, Max, and Ray with mechanic Kenny and later manager Hilary, the roster splits and regroups across three seasons, eventually reforming as BBA Revolution and then G Revolutions.

What to know

  • Formed after the Japanese Qualifiers, with Tyson, Max, and Ray joining once Tyson beat reigning champion Kai in the regional tournament.
  • Kai is named official team captain in the English dub, though he battles only as a last resort.
  • Kenny serves as team mechanic; Hilary Tachibana later joins as manager; Hiro Granger later becomes coach.
  • Win the Asian, American, and Majestics tournaments, then the first World Championship by beating the Demolition Boys in the finals.
  • Split into pairs (Tyson & Max, Kai & Ray) to win the second World Championship in V-Force.
  • In G-Revolution, Tyson, Kenny, Hilary, and newcomer Daichi Sumeragi carry on as BBA Revolution while Kai, Ray, and Max temporarily rejoin their old teams.
  • Reunite as G Revolutions to defeat Boris Balkov's BEGA League.
  • Each core member has a signature style: Kai (endurance), Tyson (attack), Max (defense), Ray (agility/technique).

  • Every original member later belonged to a different team at some point: Kai with the Demolition Boys and Blade Sharks, Ray with the White Tigers, Max with the All Starz.
  • Kenny and Hilary are based on characters Rokumaru and Kurumi from the earlier Beigoma Battle: Beyblade franchise.
