Biography

Dizzi — short for Dizzari — is a bit-beast without a Beyblade: a spirit that ended up trapped inside Kenny's laptop after an accident and has been commenting on everyone's mistakes ever since. She crunches battle data, projects blade schematics and delivers most of the show's dry humour, usually at Tyson's expense; Kai is Mr Sour-pants, and she warms to Hilary only after a frosty start. Because she is a bit-beast she can sense and analyse others, which makes her an early warning for anything strange in the dish. She exists only in the English dub — most of her lines are Kenny's in the Japanese version, where the laptop simply shows data — and she was seemingly added to put a female voice into a largely male cast.

Story by season

Where the seasons take them

Beyblade (2001)

Bladebreakers

Riding along in Kenny's laptop from the very first episode, Dizzi turns raw battle footage into the specs that rebuild Tyson's Blade more than once, cracking jokes about his appetite the entire time. Kai's early treatment of Kenny earns him the nickname Mr. Sour-pants, one that sticks for the rest of the trilogy even after her opinion of him softens. She never appears in the Japanese cut of the show, where Kenny's own dialogue carries the same analysis without her, but in the dub she is the voice recapping the road to Russia and everything the team learns on the way there.

Beyblade V-Force (2002)

Bladebreakers

Team Psykick's corrupted bit-beasts give Dizzi real work this season, running the numbers alongside Kenny to figure out exactly what a Cyber Driger or Cyber Draciel actually changes in a fight. Zeo Zagart's sealed bit-beast poses a stranger problem, one she spends nearly as long puzzling over as the Psykick threat itself. Hilary's arrival tests her patience early, and Dizzi's first read on her is a comment about needing a chill pill, but the sniping fades fast, and by the season's back half Hilary is asking her for a read on battles as readily as anyone else on the team does.

Beyblade G-Revolution (2003)

BBA Revolution / G Revolutions

Kenny's unlikely stand-in battle against Tala gets Dizzi's full attention, coaching him through a fight neither of them expected him to actually need to win alone. The bulk of her season goes into designing the Hard Metal generation of blades with him, the engineering work that eventually arms the rebel alliance against BEGA. Her running commentary keeps its usual target: Tyson's blading and his eating both stay fair game for a joke, even as the stakes around the team climb toward the Justice 5 and the fight to take BEGA down for good.

  • Inseparable from Kenny, acting as his sidekick and running commentator.
  • Coined Kai's nickname Mr. Sour-pants for his early rudeness toward Kenny.

Claims We Could Not Check

  • Likely added to the dub to give the largely all-male main cast a female voice.
  • Her narrator-like role diminished once Hilary joined the main cast.
