Biography
Miguel — Mihael Kahn in Japan — captains the Barthez Battalion, and comes across cold and intimidating because he is going along with his coach's cheating. He is a genuinely strong blader with the gargoyle Dark Gargoyle, and the season slowly shows how much he hates the tricks he has been told to use, and how much he cares about his teammate Mathilda. His battle with Ray in Rome and his match with Tyson in Madrid bracket the turn: Tyson's example is what pushes him into firing Barthez and blading straight, which wins him the crowd even in defeat. Afterwards he helps Kenny and Emily build the Hard Metal System blades for the fight against BEGA.
Appearance and personality
What They Look Like, and How They Behave
Miguel's hair is spiky and blond, his eyes a bluish grey that changes with his mood — narrow-pupilled and unsettling through the season's first half while his frustration builds, then back to normal once the tournament ends and he cuts ties with Barthez. He dresses in a teal short-sleeved shirt and baggy red trousers, layered under a sleeveless white jacket wrapped in belts, with red gloves and black-and-yellow sneakers finishing the outfit.
Through the first half of the season Miguel seems angry and forceful, a front built from resentment at Barthez for forcing the team to cheat, though deep down he knows it's wrong. He snaps at anyone who speaks against Barthez, which makes the rest of the team see him as an intimidating authority figure. Only Mathilda sees past that: underneath, he's genuinely kind, and it's Miguel who seeks her out and talks her through it when she's upset over losing her beyblade. His looks make him one of the tournament's most popular boys, drawing fangirls that Barthez has to clear from his path. He also proves handy at building and repairing Beyblades, piecing together a temporary one for Mathilda and later helping assemble the Hard Metal System Beyblades.

Beyblade G-Revolution (2003)
Barthez Battalion (captain)
Miguel brings Barthez in to guarantee wins nobody expects a new team to get, and looks past what that costs as Barthez Battalion racks up matches on illegal blades and rigged tactics. Tyson's speech about what blading is supposed to mean, followed by an order to wreck Tyson's own gear outright, finally breaks the arrangement — Miguel fires his coach mid-tournament and faces Kai clean for the first time all season. He loses, but the crowd chants his name anyway, and his own team thanks him for playing straight even in defeat. Only he and Mathilda prove strong enough to earn a training-camp slot, and though neither makes the final roster, Miguel keeps contributing anyway, helping Kenny and Emily build the Hard Metal System blades the alliance needs.

There has to be a reason to win, guys. Otherwise, a victory is just a hollow one.
