Biography
Claude is the Barthez Battalion's soft-spoken wingman, a clean, technical blader whose eagle Rapid Eagle works on speed and aerial strikes. He is the most obedient of Barthez's bladers and still stops short of cheating outright, so the order he gets instead is to stand still and take a hit from flying stadium debris during his match with Rick, to turn the crowd against him. It works, and the injury keeps him out for the rest of the tournament, including his loss to Ray. He opens the team's round-robin campaign — finesse against brute force, and a glimpse of how good the Battalion could be without their coach — follows Miguel through the break with Barthez, and lines up behind Tyson when BEGA takes the sport over.
Personality
How They Behave
Unlike some of his Barthez Battalion teammates, he draws a line at outright cheating — though he still ends up a pawn in Barthez's schemes, once standing still on command while stadium debris was aimed at him so that Rick would take the blame for injuring him and the crowd would turn against Rick. The resulting arm injury cost him his next scheduled match against Ray. Later, set to face Kai, he instead pushed for Miguel to take the match, backing up his claim that he was breaking from Barthez to fight clean. Of the team, he follows Barthez's orders most readily; whether that comes from a fear he simply conceals better than Aaron and Mathilda, or from something closer to genuine obedience, isn't entirely clear.

Barthez Battalion
Claude opens the Barthez Battalion's world-championship run against Rick in New York, bringing Rapid Eagle's speed and aerial strikes against brute force in a match that shows, briefly, what the team looks like without their coach's interference. The show of skill doesn't last — Barthez orders him to stand still and take a hit from flying stadium debris to swing the crowd's sympathy, and the resulting injury benches him for most of the tournament, including what should have been his match against Ray. He recovers in time to share in the team's break from Barthez once Miguel finally fires their coach, and when BEGA takes over the sport, Claude lines up behind Tyson with the rest of the rebel alliance.
