About This Part

Xtend is a Balance-type Driver from Takara Tomy, built for the Burst System and the Cho-Z Layer System. It debuted in Japan on March 17th, 2018, inside the B-105 Starter featuring Z Achilles. The tip is a manual height-change piece with a wide flat base and a small sharp point at its centre, comparable to a broader Fusion; twisting the tip switches it between a lower setting matched to a standard driver and a taller one meant to shift where layers make contact. Held straight down, the centre point keeps the combination stable, while an off-centre hit or angled launch turns the flat base into an aggressive mover, though the wide surface makes banking hard to sustain.

In Play

The centre point causes inconsistent attack and the flat base gives inconsistent stamina, so the community treats Xtend mainly as a collector's piece rather than a competitive choice.

  • Debuted in Japan inside the B-105 Starter, Z Achilles 11 Xtend, on March 17th, 2018.
  • A Gunmetal Ver. recolor of Xtend was distributed in Japan through a Cho-Z Bey Get Campaign, redeemed with a ticket after spending up to 2000 yen on Takara Tomy Beyblade Burst products at participating stores.

The Competitive View

In a straight launch the central point conserves stamina like Fusion; knocked off balance or launched at an angle, the wide flat base creates aggressive movement near Assault speed, though the pattern is unreliable and hard to bank due to the tip's width.

Verdict as the draft gives it: The raise-height gimmick is judged a disappointment ('what's needed is a Driver that shrinks in height, not grows'), though the tall setting is also considered useful as a counter to metal-ball/gravity combos on standard-height drivers such as Orbit and Atomic.

  • Pull-and-twist two-position height gimmick
  • Low setting matches standard tip height; high setting intended to raise Disc/Frame-to-Layer contact
  • Off-balance movement speed compared to Assault
  • Height change described as smaller than that of the Tower tip

Related parts named in the draft: Fusion, Tower, Assault, Orbit, Atomic.
