Description
The ice-wolf blade of the Demolition Boys' captain and the final obstacle of the first season. Wolborg freezes the dish and its opponent in place with the Novae Rog, then finishes at leisure, and in the World Championship final Biovolt pushes it further by feeding Tala stolen bit-beast data through his cybernetic conditioning. The three-episode battle with Dragoon F, fought in a frozen arena, is the climax of the original series and the match that makes Tyson world champion.
Tala pilots Wolborg as his first Beyblade in the manga, introduced in the chapter 'Invasion of the Russian Army Corps, Borg!!'. Its Japanese name, ウルボーグ (Urubōgu), belongs to a Stamina Type built for the Spin Gear System from the Wolborg bit chip — depicting the top itself — the Reverse Wolf attack ring, Eight Balance weight disk, a bearing-version right Spin Gear and the SG Bearing Base. It gives way to Wolborg 2 in both the toyline and manga, and its manga-sequel self in Bakuten Shoot Beyblade: Rising is later succeeded by Wolborg 8 Bearing.

Parts in detail
This page documents Takara's original release; Hasbro's version performs differently enough to warrant its own separate page.
| Slot | Part | Weight | Spin | Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Attack Ring | Reverse Wolf | 3.8 g | Right and Left | A small, mostly rounded four-sided ring with counter-clockwise-facing contact points and two extra protrusions behind the wolf heads that mainly seem to hurt its own spin-stealing potential. Right Spin has passable spin-stealing potential since the heads carry limited recoil, but the rear protrusions still generate enough recoil overall to keep it off the competitive tier; Left Spin fares worse, with too much recoil for survival and points poorly suited to attack. |
| Weight Disk | Eight Balance | 14.1 g | A middling-weight disk with an unremarkable mass spread, clearly behind almost every common competitive disk, Ten Balance especially; heavier plated copies occasionally close the weight gap but remain a niche alternative at best. | |
| Spin Gear | Right Spin Gear Shells (Bearing Version) | 1.1 each (shells) + 1.12 (Metal Weight Gear, optional) g | Right | The bearing-compatible casing variant of the original right-spin shell; incompatible with Neo cores, so outclassed by Neo shells for most competitive builds. |
| Spin Gear | SG (Bearing Version) [Casings] | 0.66 each / 1.3 total, plus one bearing g | Holds a single bearing (ships with a shielded ball bearing); the only casing that lets SG (Bearing Version) Shaft and Bearing Base Shaft work properly in Left Spin. | |
| Spin Gear | SG (Bearing Version) Shaft | 0.68 g | A pointed, regular-plastic shaft; decent stamina, limited aggression, and reasonable precession make it a workable zombie-build shaft, though it has more friction than the POM-material Bearing Base Shaft and less stability than Neo SG (Double Bearing Version) Shaft. | |
| Blade Base | SG Bearing Base | 4.5 g | A small, light base compatible with most bearing-based spin gears; its compact mass distribution isn't ideal for zombie builds and it offers little life-after-death on its own, working best alongside Wide Survivor. |
Weights are single copies weighed on their own; a part can vary by a few tenths of a gram.

Community testing, Jul. 16, 2018 — summarised
The competitive view
Wolborg is a Burst-System Energy Layer that reworks the Plastic-Generation Reverse Wolf Attack Ring and its Wolborg Bit Chip into one square/diamond piece with four wolf-head contact points and a center image of the Wolborg bit-beast. The wolf heads are rounder and more compact than the original ring, the gap between blades is gone, and the chip is fused rather than removable.
Its counter-clockwise, recoil-heavy blade shape sits awkwardly between Attack and Stamina roles, and its hollow single-plastic build keeps it very light, giving it little inertia and making it burst out of battles easily.
Verdict as the draft gives it: Recommended for collecting only, since its shape and light weight make it prone to self-bursting.
- Adapted from the Plastic Generation's Reverse Wolf Attack Ring and Wolborg Bit Chip
- Overall square/diamond shape with four wolf-head contact points
- Wolf heads more rounded and compact than the original ring, without the gap between blades
- Bit Chip is fused/non-removable (unlike the original)
- Made from a single layer of hollow plastic
- Ships with 8 Bearing (per reply from brandbrick)
