Description
Master Dragoon is an Attack-type top Takara issued under the Spin Gear System in July 2001, built from the Upper Dragoon attack ring, an 8-Heavy weight disk, a Right spin gear and an SG Flat blade base. In the anime, amateur bladers without a bit-beast are often shown using it and its sibling Master tops. Upper Dragoon's long upward-sloping ramps make it one of the strongest upper-attack rings for right-spin use, lifting an opponent off the stadium floor and leaving its defence exposed to follow-up hits.

Parts in detail
Shares Upper Dragoon, Right Spin Gear and SG Flat Base with Kids Dragoon but is paired with the heavier Eight Heavy weight disk instead of Eight Wide.
| Slot | Part | Weight | Spin | Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Attack Ring | Upper Dragoon | 6.2 (Mold 1) / 6.0 (Mold 2) g | Both | A three-sided, overhanging ring with long upper-attack slopes that stay low-recoil for how offensive it is; the traditional go-to pure upper-attack ring and a common safe pick for spin-stealing, even though harder-hitting alternatives exist for right spin. |
| Weight Disk | Eight Heavy | 15.3 (regular mold) / 15.5 (indent mold) g | A step behind Ten Heavy but a fine backup for compacts, traditional upper attack, weight defense and force smash; the Takara/indent and Hasbro molds perform almost identically. | |
| Spin Gear | Right Spin Gear Shells + Regular SG Core Part & Metal Weight Gear | 1.1g per shell (2.2g total) + 1.73g core assembly g | Right | Standard shells that can carry a Metal Weight Gear for slightly heavier gimmicked setups, though Neo shells are generally preferred for their wider core compatibility. |
| Blade Base | SG Flat Base | 4.4 g | The shortest base in plastics, giving it niche value for traditional upper attack despite mediocre flower-patterning, stamina and recoil control. |
Weights are single copies weighed on their own; a part can vary by a few tenths of a gram.
In play and in the story
Competitive builders pair Upper Dragoon with a low blade base such as Dragoon S's Storm Grip Base for repeated upper-attack contact, or centre it in the stadium with a heavier weight disk like Wide Defense so the opponent is forced to come to it and take damage on approach; its round, weighted shape also makes it a solid one-part boost to defence-oriented builds.
