Description

Busujima pilots Escolpio WD145B in the manga, a Defence Type built around the Escolpio face bolt and wheel, a Wide Defense 145 spin track and a Ball performance tip under the Metal System. Takara Tomy had planned a Japanese release for December 25th, 2008, but pushed the date back to February 22nd, 2009 for reasons that were never made public. Its own lineage later carries on into Rock Scorpio T125JB.

Community testing, 2011-03-07 — summarised

The competitive view

A fully circular, hollow scorpion-themed wheel that is too light and hollow to hold momentum for Stamina or Defense, and has no protrusions for Attack, making it one of the weakest wheels ever released. Combined with the three-winged Wide Defense 145 track and the hemispherical Ball bottom.

Escolpio's low weight leaves it easily pushed around and unable to build momentum, with no attack shape either; WD145's fixed (non-spinning) wings absorb hits worse than C145, GB145, and 230, and can snag low attackers' wheels, adding recoil; Ball gives decent central floor contact for Defense/Stamina but less grip than WB and less stamina than SD/WD.

Verdict as the draft gives it: Composed entirely of outclassed parts that never had real competitive relevance; recommended for collection purposes only.

  • Face Escolpio weight: 1.1 grams
  • Wheel Escolpio weight: 31 grams
  • Track Wide Defense 145 (WD145) weight: 3.6 grams
  • Bottom Ball weight: 0.6 grams
