About This Part
Escolpio is a Takara Tomy Wheel from the Metal System, first released in Japan with the BB-24 Booster Escolpio WD145B on February 22nd, 2009. Two thick scorpion-tail halves meet at each end to form a roughly circular outline, with red rectangular accents along the top of each tail standing in for a scorpion's segmented body; flatter sections at the edges give it more of an oval look on closer inspection. At 31 grams it ranks among the lightest Wheels ever made, and its underside is hollow like a bell rather than solid.
In Play
That roundness might suggest Defense or Stamina strength, but the hollow underside robs it of the weight those categories need, so even paired with a Metal Face it sheds spin velocity quickly and loses whatever balance it had the moment it takes a hit; sitting low on a Track also risks scraping the stadium floor. The community considers it a collection piece rather than a competitive choice.
