In play and in the story
Despite a rounded shape that might suggest Stamina or Defense potential and slopes that hint at Upper Attack, Capricorne lacks the weight and acute angles to make good on either, and its hoof details sit awkwardly at the base of its only useful slopes for its right-spin direction -- leaving it largely obsolete, especially once the Hybrid Wheel System arrived the following month in Japan.
Community testing, 2012-02-25 — summarised
The competitive view
A wheel built around a goat motif, with hooves and curved horns at opposite ends reinforced by connecting flat metal to prevent breakage. Its round, low-relief shape theoretically suits Stamina or Defense, and its slopes theoretically suit Upper Attack, but poor weight and part placement squander both possibilities.
Despite a shape that should favor Stamina or Defense, Capricorne lacks the weight to hold momentum or absorb hits; its right-spin-only slopes are blocked by the hooves sitting right at their base, killing any Upper Attack potential, and it was quickly overshadowed once the Hybrid Wheel System launched the following month in Japan.
Verdict as the draft gives it: Called one of the worst-selling Metal System releases; the wheel has no competitive use anywhere, the 100 track is only decent for some Attack builds, and the bottom was quickly outclassed. Buy for collection purposes only.
- Wheel Capricorne weight: 32.5 grams
- Hasbro's Fury Capricorn face omits the word "CAPRICORNE" from the banner
