Face Hunters

The Face Hunters are a street gang led by Kyoya Tategami and second-in-command Benkei Hanawa in Metal Bey City, who bully young bladers into unfair battles and steal their Bey Points, famous for staging one-versus-hundred 'Face Hunter' battles until Gingka Hagane defeats the entire group and the gang eventually disbands.

What to know

  • Forms after Benkei repeatedly loses to Kyoya and decides to follow him.
  • Roughly a hundred members total, though only five recurring named followers (A through E) plus Kyoya, Benkei, and briefly Kakeru Daichi and Tetsuya Watarigani get individual attention.
  • Base of operations is an old graffiti-covered warehouse by the port.
  • Signature tactic is forcing targets into a '100 Beys Battle,' most notably against Gingka Hagane, which Gingka wins outright.
  • Steal Kenta's Flame Sagittario to lure Gingka into a battle with Kyoya.
  • Disbanded by Kyoya once he leaves to train with Dark Nebula and Benkei befriends Gingka's group.
  • Members briefly regroup to catch Tetsuya Watarigani for lying about becoming their new leader, and to cheer for Kyoya at Battle Bladers and Big Bang Bladers.
  • Kyoya forbids the Face Hunters from saying his Bey's name without his permission.

Claims We Could Not Check

Attributed, not verified by us

  • All Face Hunters members, including Benkei, historically used a version of the Leone Bey, except leader Kyoya's, which uniquely had a Metal Wheel.
  • The gang's name references the 'Face' part that screws together a Metal Fight Beyblade's components.
  • The Face Hunters are compared to the Original Series' Blade Sharks, since both gangs are led by the rival of each era's protagonist (Kai/Tyson, Kyoya/Gingka).
