Biography

Kenta Yumiya starts the Metal Saga as an underconfident Blader rescued from the Face Hunters by Gingka Hagane, and his admiration for Gingka becomes the engine of his entire growth arc. Training relentlessly, he develops his own signature Flame Claw special move and fights his way into Battle Bladers, and by Metal Fury he pursues the reclusive Ryuga himself to recruit him against the revived threat Nemesis. Ryuga eventually gifts him his Star Fragment, evolving Flame Sagittario into Flash Sagittario and making Kenta a Legendary Blader in his own right, though Nemesis ultimately destroys that Beyblade before the final confrontation.

Appearance and personality

What They Look Like, and How They Behave

Short in height, Kenta has bright green hair and brown eyes. A yellow T-shirt marked by a blue stripe running from chest to arms was his look in the first two seasons, worn with blue shorts; the shirt turned yellow with a white centre line by Metal Fury. Blue-and-white trainers with white socks complete his look, and he later added brown fingerless gloves along with a brown cloak and hat, eventually dropping the cloak and hat while keeping the gloves. Through the Metal Saga he and Yu appear close in age, though neither's exact age is confirmed.

Little self-belief marked Kenta as a new Blader early on, until meeting Gingka gave him something to aim for and the confidence started building. Kindness runs deep in him — noticing anything wrong with a friend, he presses gently until he gets an answer, and loyalty to those friends never wavers. Danger involving himself, his Bey or his friends stirs strong emotion in him throughout the series.

Sagittario outlasts rather than overpowers, and he loses most big matches; sheer persistence is what earns him Ryuga's respect and a Star Fragment.
