About This Part

Spike, also called Sharp, is a Takara Tomy Performance Tip that debuted in Japan on August 9, 2008 with the BB-03 Starter Sagittario 145S, reaching the West with the Flame Sagittario Value Pack in May 2010. Recorded at 0.6 grams, with a tip angle of 35 degrees and a tip height of 6.82 mm, it comes to a narrow point that barely touches the stadium floor, cutting friction to help hold onto spin. A Battle Fortress product blurb praises it for stability and staying power in a match, though that fine point actually leaves it easy to knock off balance and gives it little real movement of its own.

In Play

The community rates it as outclassed for both defence and stamina by later variants such as Eternal Spike and Coating Spike, leaving it with little use beyond collecting.

  • Debuted in Japan on August 9, 2008 with BB-03 Starter Sagittario 145S.
  • Reached western countries in May 2010 with the Flame Sagittario Value Pack.
  • It closely resembles the Sharp Base, SG Sharp Base, and Sharp Core from the original series.
