About This Part
Z Achilles is Takara Tomy's Balance Type entry in the Burst System's Cho-Z Layer line, a rectangular, four-bladed piece with heavy recoil by design and metal set into its wings. It launched in Japan on March 17th, 2018 with the B-105 Starter, Z Achilles 11 Xtend. That metal, concentrated near the point of impact, adds inertia that its tall teeth are built to put to use.
In Play
The extra mass lifts both Knock-Out and Burst Attack while helping the teeth resist skipping, making Z Achilles strong in Attack combinations such as Z Achilles 0/2/4/5/7 Bump/Meteor Xtreme/Jolt, though the imbalanced design drains Stamina, risks bursts and can break banking patterns unless a Level Chip is fitted underneath; the community rates it on par with Sieg Xcalibur for Attack but behind Winning Valkyrie, a welcome pickup rather than a must-have. Its top and bottom blades protrude far enough to be prone to denting and chipping, so bladers who mind the wear are advised to keep spares.
- Debuted in Japan on March 17th, 2018 with the B-105 Starter, Z Achilles 11 Xtend.
- Reissued in Ice Sword, G1 Bronze, G1 Silver and G1 Gold Ver. colourways.
- Included in a Cho-Z Gold finish in the B-00 Cho-Z Customize Set CoroCoro Ver.
- A Jet Black Ver. colourway was distributed in Japan through a Bey Ticket Campaign, redeemed with tickets earned by placing in special events.
