About This Part

Xtreme is an Attack-type Driver, released first by Takara Tomy and later by Hasbro as part of the Burst System. It debuted in Japan on December 26th, 2015, inside the B-23 Starter featuring Xcalibur, then reached western shelves through Hasbro's Raging Roktavor and Xcalius Dual Pack. The tip is a flat rubber piece with a circular dip in its centre, sitting at a standard height and stamped with a stylized "X." High friction against the stadium floor gives it fast, aggressive movement that holds a banking pattern well when launched with a banking shoot, making it a frequent pick for attack builds, though the rubber wears down over repeated use and drains stamina quickly.

In Play

The community rates Xtreme among the fastest and most aggressive tips available, but its poor stamina and tendency toward self-bursting mean bladers competing seriously usually keep several copies on hand, and Hasbro's softer-rubber version is considered essential for the Hasbro-only format.

  • Debuted in Japan inside the B-23 Starter, Xcalibur Force Xtreme, on December 26th, 2015.
  • Debuted in western countries with Hasbro's Raging Roktavor R2 and Xcalius Dual Pack.
  • The Hasbro version's rubber softness varies by mold: the gold C1516 Master Kit and yellow C2281 molds are softest, followed by the white E2545 release, then the red and blue releases.

The Competitive View

Xtreme's high friction produces strong, fairly controllable attacks, but that same friction drains stamina quickly, worsened by the Burst System's lighter overall weight, pushes more recoil force into a layer's teeth or slopes raising self-burst risk, and wears down with use without stamina gains.

Verdict as the draft gives it: One of the most common attack-tip choices, but not a must-have since Accel matches its control with more stamina and Hold matches or beats its speed with more left-spin versatility; still a welcome addition, best owned in multiples to replace worn copies.

  • Debuted B-23 Xcalibur Force Xtreme, December 26, 2015, translucent blue with red rubber
  • Also released: Gold Ver. (gold/black rubber), Saint Knight Ver., B-46 Obelisk Odin Triple Xtreme (translucent black/yellow rubber), Dragoon S Wing Xtreme (white/blue rubber, and CoroCoro Aniki Gold Ver. gold/red rubber)
  • Hasbro: Roktavor R2 & Xcalius Dual Pack, Wyvron W2 & Odax O2 Dual Pack (both opaque light blue/black rubber)
  • Speed order, fastest last: Blow < Variable (new) < Zephyr < Accel < Assault < Xtreme < Variable (worn) < Hold < Variable (super worn)

Related parts named in the draft: Rubber Flat (Metal Fight Beyblade), Accel, Zephyr, Assault, Hold, Variable.
