About This Part

Wedge is a Driver made by Takara Tomy for the Burst System's God Layer System, released in Japan on February 17th, 2018 inside the B-103 Booster, Screw Trident 8Bump Wedge. It runs a tall, shallow-angled metal cone set at a normal driver height — a metal counterpart to Survive — and the metal's low friction is meant to boost both stamina and resistance to bursting.

In Play

That same low friction is also its downfall, making Wedge easy to knock off balance and out of the ring. Its cone looks heavy enough to sit low and steady, but the metal is actually hollow and light, and the tip itself is unevenly weighted, producing wobbly motion that raises burst risk and burns through stamina. Unlike its Metal Sharp and Metal Needle counterparts from earlier eras, its shallower, duller point does not gouge stadium floors. The community rates it well below Orbit and Atomic for stamina work given its imbalance and slickness, keeping it mainly for the collection.

The Competitive View

Its low-friction metal tip makes it easy to knock out of the stadium, its low tip position under a bulky plastic base creates a top-heavy, scrape-prone build, and its tall height leaves it especially vulnerable to upward-angle hits that destabilize it and worsen both scraping and Knock-Out risk.

Verdict as the draft gives it: Wedge is outclassed by Revolve (lower destabilization risk), Orbit (better KO resistance), and Atomic (better procession, stamina, and overall versatility), recommended for collection purposes only.

  • Tall sharp metal tip, likened to the Metal Sharp Performance Tip from Metal Fight Beyblade
