About This Part
Universe is a Driver made by Takara Tomy for the Burst System's Superking Layer System, released in Japan on April 25th, 2020 inside the B-164 Random Booster Vol. 20. Its build centres on a wide, free-spinning hemispherical ball with a second free-spinning ring around it. The ball's broad contact area was meant to raise knockout defence, but its unrestricted spin actually works against that goal, while the outer ring is there to right the driver after it gets knocked off balance and to brake against knockouts.
In Play
That same wide ball tends to ride the ridge of a stadium and tip itself out when launched hard, so bladers favour a soft launch and larger dishes such as the Beystadium DB Standard Type, where the problem eases; it is best avoided against same-spin opponents altogether.
