About This Part
Trans is a driver holding two switchable settings, Stamina and Attack, changed by twisting its lower section, with a stylized "T" moulded into its top for quick identification; it was released by Takara Tomy for the SwitchStrike System. The Stamina setting exposes a small low-angle cone meant to hold the blade near the stadium centre, but the cone's small diameter, kept small to allow the mode switch, leaves it easy to knock off balance, and combined with Trans's bulk this risks scraping, though the shallow angle softens that risk; it still lags behind free-spinning tips such as Eternal. The Attack setting swaps in a flat tip with a centre hole similar to Zephyr, giving an aggressive yet controllable pattern suited to mobile stamina play, though four small tabs around its rim stop it from catching the Tornado Ridge and instead cause grinding stamina loss. It debuted in Japan on August 6th, 2016 with the B-57 Triple Booster Set, and later reached the west through Hasbro's SwitchStrike Starter Pack pairing it with Alter Cognite C3.
In Play
Trans plays into the attack combination Sieg Xcalibur 0/1/2/4/5/7 Cross/Glaive/Star Trans, where a heavy disc bolsters both recoil and knock-out resistance, and into the balance combination Twin Nemesis (Upper Mode) 0/2/4/5/7 Cross/Glaive/Star Trans, where high stamina lets it out-spin rivals while its Attack setting adds burst-attack power. It has since been outclassed in stamina by drivers such as Bearing' and Drift, and the community treats it mainly as a collection piece.
- Debuted in Japan on August 6th, 2016 with the B-57 Triple Booster Set.
- Reached western countries through Hasbro's SwitchStrike Starter Pack pairing Alter Cognite C3 with 6Meteor Trans.
The Competitive View
In Stamina mode Trans behaves like a small, easily destabilized Survive-style stationary tip that risks floor scraping, mitigated by a half-twist to widen its effective diameter; in Attack mode it plays like a Zephyr-style aggressive hybrid tip good for mobile-stamina builds but too grindy on the Tornado Ridge for stalling builds.
Verdict as the draft gives it: A must-buy for competitive bladers as the first and, at time of writing, only multi-setting tip, offering attack, mobile-stamina and stationary-stamina strategies from one part while its small tip hides the active setting from opponents.
