About This Part

Spiral is a flat driver tip lined with spikes that curve toward the left, released by Takara Tomy for the Dual Layer System within the Burst line. Its broad surface pushes speed above that of Assault, but the plastic build and wide contact area keep it from holding a steady banking pattern, and the rough rim bleeds stamina quickly. In effect it circles an opponent rather than driving into it, burning through what little stamina it carries. It debuted in Japan on December 28th, 2016 with the B-66 starter Lost Longinus Nine Spiral, and later reached the west through Hasbro's Lost Lúinor L2 Nine Spiral starter.

In Play

The community treats Spiral as a useful counter to Tornado-Stalling combinations thanks to its speed, but its poor control and low stamina otherwise make it a collection piece rather than a tournament pick.

  • Debuted in Japan on December 28th, 2016 with the B-66 starter Lost Longinus Nine Spiral.
  • Reached western countries through Hasbro's starter pack Lost Lúinor L2 Nine Spiral.
  • Spiral is considered the Burst-era counterpart to the Metal Series Left Flat (LF) performance tip.
  • It was the first part to use a two-letter abbreviation (Sp.).
  • A Limited Color version of Spiral could be obtained in Japan by spending up to 2000 yen on Takara Tomy Beyblade Burst products at certain stores.

The Competitive View

Compared to a standard flat tip, Spiral moves faster but sacrifices control, playing similarly to the older Left Flat tip; testing on it was still limited at time of writing.

  • Debuted B-66 Lost Longinus Nine Spiral, December 28, 2016
  • Colors: translucent pale blue (B-66), red (Crimson Dragon Ver.)
  • First part abbreviated with two letters ("Sp.")

Related parts named in the draft: Left Flat (Metal Fight Beyblade).
