About This Part
Press is a driver Takara Tomy released for the Burst System and the Dual Layer System, debuting in Japan inside the Kaiser Kerbeus Limited Press booster on April 2nd, 2016, then reaching the west in Hasbro's King Kerbeus K2 Limited Press starter pack. It has a ball-shaped tip similar to Defense but ringed by four notably wider tabs meant to right an off-balance beyblade and brake against knock-outs, plus four wall protrusions with a central spike near the top that mostly just add friction against the stadium floor. Those wider tabs bleed stamina faster than Defense's without adding much knock-out resistance in return.
In Play
Despite being one of the heavier drivers in Burst, the community rates Press as outclassed for competitive use by Defense, Orbit and Atomic, keeping it mainly as a collection piece.
- Debuted in Japan inside the Kaiser Kerbeus Limited Press booster on April 2nd, 2016.
- Reached western markets in Hasbro's King Kerbeus K2 Limited Press starter pack.
- A Platinum-coloured recolour was obtainable in Japan through a Platinum Driver Ticket campaign tied to CoroCoro magazine.
- A Limited Color recolour was sold in select Japanese stores tied to the same purchase threshold.
- A Platinum Ver. recolour of Press could be claimed in Japan by presenting a Platinum Driver Ticket cut from CoroCoro magazine alongside a purchase of up to 2000 yen worth of Takara Tomy Beyblade Burst merchandise.
- A Limited Color recolour of Press was sold at select Japanese retailers under the same 2000-yen purchase threshold.
The Competitive View
The wider tabs scrape more than Defense's, draining stamina further, and Press's extra weight isn't offset by any defensive gain, leaving it heavier but weaker than rival stamina/defense tips.
Verdict as the draft gives it: One of the heavier Performance Tips in Burst, but outclassed for competitive use by tips like Defense that offer better stamina without a compensating defense boost.
- Weight: 6.4 g
- Four large tabs (vs. Defense's three) plus four small spiked side tabs
- Debuted Kerbeus K2 Limited Press, April 2, 2016
