About This Part

Operate is a driver with an adjustable wide ball tip that slides between Attack and Defense modes. Takara Tomy released it in Japan on May 26th, 2018 as part of the B-113 Booster, Hell Salamander 12 Operate.

In Play

In Attack mode the off-centre ball tip can make the beyblade hop and strike a rival's layer against its disc, echoing Quake, though the effect is inconsistent and the tip cannot hold a stable banking pattern, leaving it drifting toward the stadium's outer ridge or stalling with weak stamina; in Defense mode the centred ball tip lacks the brake tabs of earlier ball drivers such as Defense, so its knock-out resistance trails even Massive while its early movement pushes it toward the ridge. The community rates both modes as outclassed by parts like Accel or Xtreme for attack and Massive for defence, and treats Operate as a collection piece.

  • Debuted in Japan on May 26th, 2018 with the B-113 Booster.
  • The sliding mode-change mechanism echoes the Move 145 (M145) Spin Track from the Metal Series.

The Competitive View

The Defense setting lacks the braking tabs of earlier ball tips like Defense, so its Knock-Out resistance trails even the already-outclassed Massive, while the Attack setting's round tip makes its hopping effect inconsistent and unable to hold a Banking Pattern, leaving it worse than standard flat tips like Accel and Xtreme.

Verdict as the draft gives it: The author calls Operate recommended for collection purposes only, judging it versatile in theory but outclassed in both of its modes.
