About This Part
Metal Xtreme adds a Metal Lock cap and reinforced spring to the Xtreme driver's flat rubber tip with its centre depression. Takara Tomy released it in Japan on August 7th, 2021 with the B-188 Astral Spriggan Customize Set, and like its metal-lock siblings the earliest run's lock shape could mark up a layer's teeth until an October 2021 running change shortened the tabs.
In Play
The rubber tip's grip produces a fast, fairly controllable movement, quicker than Accel, Zephyr or Assault and close to Hold, which the community rates as one of the strongest attack choices; the tradeoffs are poor stamina from that same friction, a higher chance of self-bursting Takara Tomy layers or wearing Hasbro slopes, and tip wear that dulls its aggression over repeated use, so competitive owners tend to keep several copies on hand.
- Debuted in Japan on August 7th, 2021 with the B-188 Astral Spriggan Customize Set.
- Reprints from October 2021 onward shortened the metal lock tabs.
