About This Part
Metal Universe is the Metal Lock counterpart to the Universe driver, released by Takara Tomy in Japan on October 2nd, 2021 with the B-191 Overdrive Special Starter Set. It carries the added weight and stronger spring of a metal lock cap, again with shorter tabs that trim burst resistance. The part keeps Universe's free-spinning hemispherical ball tip ringed by a second free-spinning collar, both of which spin more loosely than on the original Universe.
In Play
The wide ball tip's large surface area tends to send it circling toward the stadium rim under a hard launch, so bladers generally launch it gently and reserve it for larger dishes such as the Beystadium DB Standard Type; the community avoids using it against same-spin rivals for this reason.
- Debuted in Japan on October 2nd, 2021 with the B-191 Overdrive Special Starter Set.
