About This Part

Metal Bearing Drift is a Defense-type Driver that Takara Tomy released in Japan for the Burst System, the Dynamite Battle Layer System and the Burst Ultimate Layer Series, referred to by Takara Tomy as the Ultimate Driver. Its body is broad and eight-sided, tipped with a low-angled, free-turning point built on ball bearings — effectively a combined upgrade of Drift, Metal Drift and Bearing Drift, adding a Metal Lock, a stiffer spring, and a centre that sits 1.5mm taller than earlier versions. The bearing-supported point keeps friction low against the stadium floor for strong Stamina and Burst Defense, and its rounded overall shape gives it high Life-After-Death, especially against opposite-spin rivals, though the Metal Lock's shortened tabs reduce Burst Resistance and the slick tip leaves it open to knock-outs.

In Play

The community considers Metal Bearing Drift a must-have for competitive Defense and Stamina builds, particularly against opposite-spin opponents, and recommends pairing it with DB Cores such as Bahamut or Kerbeus to offset its comparatively weak Burst Resistance.
