About This Part

Loop is a Defense-type Driver that Takara Tomy released for the Burst System, the God Layer System and the SwitchStrike System, later reaching the west through Hasbro's Star Storm Battle Set. It uses a ball-shaped tip at standard height with four braking tabs like Defense, but replaces the usual defensive ring with two free-rotating rollers hanging on either side. Those rollers are meant to right a tilted Beyblade with little Stamina cost, and this works well early in a battle, but as spin speed drops their low placement causes scraping instead, cancelling out any late-game recovery.

In Play

The community considers Loop clearly weaker than Defense on Stamina despite a similar early-battle performance, and treats it as a collector's piece rather than a competitive choice.

  • Released by Takara Tomy in Japan with the B-74 Starter, Kreis Satan 2Glaive Loop, on March 18th, 2017.
  • Released by Hasbro in western countries with the Star Storm Battle Set.

The Competitive View

Early in battle, at high spin speed, the free rollers can right a tipped-over Beyblade with minimal stamina loss; late in battle their lower placement versus Defense's ring causes scraping that brakes rotation instead of preserving spin, killing life-after-death.

Verdict as the draft gives it: Rated a lesser but usable alternative to Defense — a welcome addition when Defense isn't available or stamina matters less — though this is disputed as inconsistent with the tip's otherwise mediocre performance.

  • Ball tip at standard height
  • Four tabs matching Defense's diameter and placement
  • Two free-spinning rollers in place of Defense's ring
  • Debut: B-74 Kreis Satan 2Glaive Loop (translucent black), March 18, 2017
