About This Part
High Xtend is a Driver released for the Burst System and the Dynamite Battle Layer System. It has no confirmed standalone release; a copy can be assembled by combining the tip piece from Xtend with the shaft of High Xtend+'. Takara Tomy's design gives it Xtend's manual height-change gimmick along with a wide flat base and a small sharp point at its centre, much like a wider Fusion — when dropped straight in, that centre point keeps the beyblade steady and stamina-sparing, and when tipped over, the flat base creates an aggressive pattern about as fast as Assault, though the protrusion can stall that pattern or the wide base can make a banking pattern hard to hold.
In Play
By twisting and pulling the tip, its height can be switched between two settings: the lower setting matches a standard driver's height for direct layer-on-layer contact, while the higher setting is meant to let the frame and disc contact the opponent's layer first and force a burst instead of suffering one — though in practice most layers are still close enough in height for contact to happen regardless, and High Xtend's height change is smaller than Tower's, a driver already criticized for too little height change of its own.
