About This Part
Evolution-SP is a driver Hasbro released for the Burst System's SpeedStorm line, debuting in western countries in the Spark Power Set. It carries the same two-stage rubber spike tip as the original Evolution, but starts at an even taller height and uses a softer rubber compound that wears down faster, so a fully worn Evolution-SP ends up around the height of a fresh Evolution. That softer rubber also makes its movement faster and more aggressive than either the standard Evolution or its Dash counterpart Evolution', at every stage of wear.
In Play
Community assessment of Evolution-SP splits by format: in the WBO's Burst Limited Format its soft rubber gives it enough raw attack potential to be used over Hunter-S and Xtreme in combinations that don't require fine control, but in both the Standard and Burst Classic formats its excessive height and its restriction to Hasbro's outclassed Energy Layers leave it recommended for collecting only.
- Debuted in western countries in the Spark Power Set.
