About This Part

Eternal is a driver Takara Tomy released for the Burst System's Cho-Z Layer line, debuting in Japan in the B-115 Booster, Archer Hercules 13 Eternal, on June 23rd, 2018, and later in western countries in Hasbro's Pro Series Starter Pack, Soul Balkesh Paradox-P Eternal Ten. It pairs a narrow sharp tip with a wide free-spinning dish moulded from POM thermoplastic, blending traits of its predecessors Revolve and Bearing. The low-friction tip gives it strong stamina and burst defence, while the wide spinning dish keeps it stable despite the narrow tip and grants it long precession, which helps against opposite-spin and mobile stamina builds.

In Play

The community favours Eternal for pure stamina combinations, where its wider dish gives it longer precession than either Atomic or Revolve, though its POM construction leaves it with somewhat less knock-out resistance than Revolve, and it is generally seen as outclassed for stamina purposes by Bearing', Drift, and Bearing itself once Dynamite Battle Layers entered the metagame.

  • Released in Japan in the B-115 Booster, Archer Hercules 13 Eternal, on June 23rd, 2018.
  • Released in western countries in Hasbro's Pro Series Starter Pack, Soul Balkesh Paradox-P Eternal Ten.

The Competitive View

The sharp tip's low floor friction gives high stamina and burst-defense, while the wide free-spinning ring maintains stability despite the small tip diameter and gives high precession time useful against opposite-spin or mobile-stamina setups; the POM ring's low friction, however, gives it weaker knockout resistance than predecessor Revolve.

Verdict as the draft gives it: Best suited to pure stamina combinations given the metagame's reliance on Orbit and Atomic; the author withholds a stronger verdict pending confirmation of the spring-lock's strength.

  • Sharp, small-diameter central tip
  • Free-spinning POM (PolyOxyMethylene) ring
  • Slightly shorter than standard pre-Super Z tip height

Related parts named in the draft: Revolve, Bearing, Orbit, Atomic.
