About This Part

Edge is a driver Takara Tomy released as part of the base Burst System, debuting in Japan in the B-20 Booster, Horusood Spread Edge, on November 14th, 2015, and later in western countries in Hasbro's Horusood and Kerbeus Dual Pack. It comes to a sharp point formed by four descending edges spaced 90 degrees apart, a shape apparently meant to aid stability but which instead leaves the driver prone to tipping and toppling over on its axis.

In Play

The community considers Edge too unbalanced for serious competitive use, since it cannot even turn that instability into an effective way of knocking an opponent off balance, and treats it as a collector's piece instead.

  • Released in Japan in the B-20 Booster, Horusood Spread Edge, on November 14th, 2015.
  • Released in western countries in Hasbro's Horusood and Kerbeus Dual Pack.
  • A gold-coloured Edge recolour was given out in Japan through a Gold Driver Ticket Campaign, redeemed with a CoroCoro magazine ticket plus a receipt for Takara Tomy Beyblade Burst products.
  • A red-coloured Edge recolour was offered in Japan through a Cho-Z Driver Get Campaign to anyone who spent up to 2000 yen on Takara Tomy Beyblade Burst products.

The Competitive View

The sharp-point design causes severe balance problems, with the Beyblade prone to tilting and toppling during a match.

Verdict as the draft gives it: Considered the most useless Driver released at the time; should never be used competitively.

  • Debuted November 15, 2015 with B-20 Booster Horusood Spread Edge
  • Four vertical wings descending to a sharp point/apex
