About This Part
Hasbro built Dimension-S as its SlingShock take on Takara Tomy's Dimension and Dimension' drivers, and the part debuted in western countries through the SlingShock Starter Pack, Turbo Achilles A4 00 Dimension-S. It shares their stepped spiral perimeter and the word 'Balance' stamped twice into its underside, and its casing is likewise ringed by a notch that can be rotated to change height. Turning the ring fully counterclockwise retracts the casing to expose a small plastic point for Low Balance Mode, in which a beyblade sits still at the centre of the stadium unless struck; turning it clockwise extends a wide, hollow flat surface for Attack Mode. A third setting, SlingShock Mode, uses the same flat-tip movement but at Dimension-S's tallest height of 31 millimetres, among the tallest of any driver.
In Play
Community testing rates Dimension-S highest in Low Balance Mode paired with a disc or disc frame that boosts precession, such as 00 Wall or Vanguard, where its opposite-spin stamina rivals Bearing and Xtend+, though its same-spin stamina lags well behind both and it is generally considered outclassed by them; its restriction to Hasbro's lighter Energy Layers further limits it against Takara Tomy's heavier releases, but it remains a strong pick in the WBO's Burst Limited Format, where those heavier layers are banned.
