About This Part

Destroy is an Attack-type Driver Takara Tomy released for the God Layer System, debuting in Japan on November 11th, 2017 inside the B-97 Starter Nightmare Longinus Destroy, and later carried west by Hasbro's SwitchStrike Starter Pack Nightmare Luinor L3 Destroy. It pairs an eight-pointed star tip much like Jaggy's with a free-spinning plate sitting at standard height above it; the plate is meant to catch the floor and right the part when it tips over, and because it sits low enough to avoid jamming, unlike similar gimmicks on Cycle and Guard, it actually does what it is built for.

In Play

The star tip leaves Destroy with weak stamina on its own, but the plate's smooth rim and free spin give it enough life-after-death to out-spin an opponent once a burst or knock-out is off the table, and the community has used it across a range of top-tier balance combinations built around Beys such as Nightmare Longinus, Spriggan Requiem, Drain Fafnir, Twin Nemesis and Alter Chronos; even so, its Dash and Metal Lock successors offer stronger burst resistance and are generally favoured over it when available.

  • Released in Japan on November 11th, 2017 inside the B-97 Starter Nightmare Longinus Destroy.
  • Released in western countries inside Hasbro's SwitchStrike Starter Pack Nightmare Luinor L3 Destroy.

The Competitive View

Destroy moves aggressively like Jaggy but the free-spinning stabilizer plate gives it unusually high Life-After-Death, potentially letting attack builds outspin opponents even after a burst or knockout attempt fails.
