About This Part

Cycle is a Driver Takara Tomy released for the Dual Layer System, debuting in Japan on January 21st, 2017 inside the B-69 Booster Jail Jormungand Infinity Cycle, and later carried west by Hasbro in the Jumbo Jormuntor J2 and Ferro Fengriff F2 Dual Pack. It shares Survive's low-angle cone tip but adds a free-spinning disc above it, comparable to Metal Fight Beyblade's Eternal Defense 145, housed inside a ring that wraps down around the tip like an inverse Gyro; the idea is for the disc to touch the floor and right a tilted Beyblade without costing much spin.

In Play

In practice the disc barely stabilizes anything and instead bleeds stamina, because the angled pressure from a leaning Beyblade jams the disc rather than letting it spin freely, and while the second contact point gives Cycle knock-out resistance on par with Orbit, that same jamming raises its risk of bursting rather than lowering it; the community rates it well behind Revolve, Orbit and Atomic and treats it as a collector's piece.

  • Released in Japan on January 21st, 2017 inside the B-69 Booster Jail Jormungand Infinity Cycle.
  • Released in western countries inside Hasbro's Jumbo Jormuntor J2 and Ferro Fengriff F2 Dual Pack.
  • Cycle is the second part in the line to use a two-letter shorthand, abbreviated Cy.

The Competitive View

Gives some KO resistance from its secondary disc contact point, comparable to Orbit, but the disc locking under angled pressure raises burst risk rather than resisting it, and overall stamina is mediocre.

Verdict as the draft gives it: Outclassed by Revolve, Orbit and Defense; suitable only for collection purposes.
