About This Part
Bite, styled βite, is a Driver Takara Tomy released as part of the Burst System, first appearing in Japan on June 25th, 2016 inside the B-00β Booster set Baldur Bumper Bite. It carries a wide ball tip made from an unusually hard rubber compound rather than the softer rubber used elsewhere. That hardness concentrates the driver's contact with the stadium floor onto a small area, trading away spin time for grip.
In Play
The dense contact patch gives Bite strong resistance to knock-outs, though the same trait leaves it with weak stamina, so it tends to see play only in defense-leaning setups rather than stamina combinations.
- Released in Japan on June 25th, 2016 inside the B-00β Booster Baldur Bumper Bite.
The Competitive View
Despite its defensive design intent, the rubber construction gives it very little stamina, letting attack tips such as Accel and Assault outspin it easily; it has seen little competitive use.
- Wide rubber ball tip at standard height
- Releases: Baldur Bumper Bite (gold, blue rubber); Baldur Bumper Bite Black Ver. (translucent black, blue rubber)
- No Hasbro release; distributed only via a promotional website battle
Related parts named in the draft: Accel, Assault.
